What is Emotional Freedom Technique?

Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) is an holistic health tool, with roots based in Chinese Medicine, which is over 5,000 years old. EFT incorporates some tools from Neurolinguistic programming, a well established set of tools aimed at coaching and personal development. The awareness and practice of EFT has been expanding globally at an incredible rate which is an indication of it's effectiveness.

 

​Why could this be useful to you?

​

EFT can help with a range of conditions, from phobias, stress, anxiety, fear of public speaking, to weight loss, addictions or cravings such as smoking, alcohol, chocolate/sugar. It can also help with relief from pain, allergies or long standing beliefs which are not helping you in your current life.

One of the benefits of EFT is that it can be learned by somebody to assist themselves in their daily lives.

What would a session be like for you?

​

We work in the consulting room I use.  This is a peaceful space with pleasant surroundings. You can take your shoes and socks off if this is more comfortable for you. We will both sit in comfortable chairs.

​

I will talk through the issues you wish to discuss and guide you through the process of tapping on the 14 meridian points on the body. This technique uses affirmations. I will discuss with you the level of distress you are feeling before we commence.  We will repeat tapping on those points as appropriate, and repeat certain words or phrases. It may be necessary to complete several tapping rounds depending upon what comes up for you. I will guide you through this, all you need to do is be open to this. You can tap on your own points with guidance from me, or I can tap on them for you, depending upon your preference and the issue we are working on.  Whilst some improvements can be noticed after only 1 session, in my experience people usually require a series of  sessions to clear the blockages and feel the difference in themselves.

What would you need to do?

​

Be prepared to discuss the issues, be prepared to tap or allow me to tap on the meridian points. Be open to the process, you do not have to believe in it, so do not worry if you have doubts. Be open to changes in the issues you bring. Be willing to work with me.
